Overview
Optical handheld readers are suitable for portable reading of two-dimensional (2D) data matrix codes and one-dimensional (1D) barcodes. The integrated complex image processing functions and illumination technologies enable codes to be read on a variety of surfaces. Two robust and powerful optical handheld readers are available for this purpose. The devices are suitable for reading 1D and 2D codes e.g. medium to high contrast data matrix codes (DMCs).
SIMATIC MV320
The SIMATIC MV320 optical handheld readers are designed for high-contrast labels, such as laser printing on paper, but can also be used for specific applications with lower contrast codes, such as laser printing on metal surfaces. SIMATIC MV320 communicates via USB with a host computer and is also supplied with power via USB. This enables the SIMATIC MV320 reader to be connected to the SIMATIC RF170C communication module. For this type of application, a special RS 232 cable is available for transmitting data and power. The optical handheld reader is designed for a range of up to 375 mm.
