Fast, reliable data transmission is essential in many use cases. SCALANCE W devices with iFeatures enable real-time communication with PROFINET and EtherNet/IP. Redundant communication ensures that no data is lost. Integrated diagnostic tools make it possible to quickly identify and correct errors.

Data security and data privacy are equally important in communication, for production processes, and in applications involving passenger transport. Standard protocols and encryption guarantee the security of data. PROFINET with PROFIsafe enables safety applications with emergency stop via WLAN for increased safety in passenger transport and in production.

SCALANCE W devices with the IP65 protection class are suitable for installation outside the control cabinet – for example, in production halls or outdoors under harsh environmental conditions. They can be used in extreme environmental conditions (EEC) and have been granted various approvals for railway applications and in potentially explosive areas.

Easy configuration

Use our SINEC NMS network management system to design and centrally configure wireless networks with a minimum of effort. It’s also easy to expand the network to include additional components and continuous monitoring to prevent errors. Firmware updates can, for example, be performed from a central location on every SCALANCE W device.
