The SIPLUS and SIMATIC Electrical Charging Components product families comprise products for the conductive charging of electric vehicles according to the IEC 61851 and IEC 15118 or DIN SPEC 70121 standards.
SIPLUS and SIMATIC Electrical Charging Controller are the key components in infrastructure solutions for the conductive charging of electric vehicles.
They perform the following functions:
- Detection of the charging cable and its permissible current carrying capacity
- Transfer of the maximum charging current from the charging station to the electric vehicle
- Evaluation of the status signals from the electric vehicle:

SIMATIC ET 200SP ECC charging controllers
SIPLUS Electrical Charging Controllers are the key communication components for constructing charging infrastructure systems of the CCS (combined charging) type for both DC and AC charging. The plugs used are types 1, 2 and 3 according to IEC 62196 and GB/T20234.
The charging controllers offer flexible areas of use for application solutions in street-side, business, highway and fleet charging.
Compact DC-DC Converters
SINAMICS DCP is setting new standards when it comes to quality, reliability and technical functionality. The SINAMICS DCP is suitable for industrial drive train applications. As a bidirectional boost and buck converter on both sides with scalable power rating, it combines multiple functions in one single device. With variable voltage levels, current can flow in both directions. This makes the SINAMICS DCP ideal for charging and discharging batteries and supercapacitors.
The high internal switching frequency makes a compact design and low weight possible. As a result, it can be installed in electrical cabinets in a space-saving way.
PROFIBUS is used as the standard communications interface. Optionally, either PROFINET, EtherNet/IP or Modbus TCP can be retrofitted as an additional interface via the CBE20 interface card. The BOP20 Basic Operator Panel is available for status displays and local operator control.
