SIWAREX WP251 is a flexible weighing module for dosing and filling processes. The compact module can be installed seamlessly in the SIMATIC S7-1200 automation system. It can also be used without a SIMATIC CPU in stand-alone mode
SIWAREX WP251 controls dosing and batching tasks completely independently while fulfilling the typical requirements of these processes, such as speed and accuracy. As part of the SIMATIC S7-1200 basic controller family, the WP251 can be integrated seamlessly into the TIA Portal.

The SIWAREX WP251 weighing module can be used with SIMATIC S7-1200 or without a SIMATIC CPU in stand-alone mode. Operation and commissioning of the scale are quick and easy with the free software example application “Ready-for-use SIWAREX WP251”.
The commissioning, calibration and operation of the scale can be done completely via the CPU or Touchpanel – the SIWAREX WP251 function block doesn’t require any additional programming! In combination with a SIMATIC S7-1200 basic controller, all customer and application specific requirements can be easily met. In the stand-alone mode all parameters and functions can be accessed and edited via the on board Modbus RTU or Modbus TCP/IP interface.
A PC or any Modbus-compatible device can be directly connected and used for operation. In addition, the SIWAREX WP251 offers a trace function. All traced process values and status information of the scale can be illustrated and analyzed with SIWATOOL V7 and, if required, edited in spreadsheets.

Design
SIWAREX WP251 is a compact technology module in the SIMATIC S7-1200, and communicates directly via the system bus with the SIMATIC S7-1200 controller.
The compact weighing module has a width of 70 mm (2.76 inch) and is installed using a DIN rail. This is extremely user-friendly.
The connections for the power supply, load cells, RS 485 interface, digital inputs/outputs, and the analog outputs are located on removable screw connector blocks. An RJ45 port is available for the Ethernet connection (SIWATOOL and Modbus TCP/IP).
